Normally, we just say "help somebody do something." Strictly speaking, you can put "to" in there if you really, really feel that you must. So, if I were grading an essay that you wrote, I wouldn't mark it incorrect, if you threw that little extra word in there. But that's not necessary. Normally we only put it in when a phrase gets very long and we're in danger of forgetting what we're talking about (which happens to me rather more often than to most).
