The time when I would use nofollow are when you can』t or don』t want to vouch for a site, e.g. if a link is added by an outside user that you don』t particularly trust. For example, if an unknown user leaves a link on your guestbook page, that would be a great time to use the nofollow attribute on that link.

在很多很多很多年以前，很多人這樣做nofollow是為了搞一種東西叫做PageRank Sculpting。但用nofollow來控制是一種過時的做法。有些大小網站到了今天也堅持這樣用，但關鍵是：這並不等於用了就有正面效果。在下愚見是，如果今天還通過nofollow來做，那在谷歌眼裡那大概只會是「white do - 白做」。現在是2014年，谷歌不會因為某個站長沒有nofollow一個或者幾個最常見的內部腳鏈就把你那個網頁打負分導致排名降低。如果真的這樣，它又如何能保證搜索質量和它的市場佔有率可以優於Bing。

且看看一些排名通常靠前的大站的做法，不用懷疑他們是否懂得SEO或者SE排名對他們是否重要。如下這些站都沒有nofollow 「Privacy」 （或者沒有Privacy的話就看Terms，這兩個都沒有看About Us）。/ p' e' E4 M* F
