　　let it/things slide 也表示「聽任事情自然發展，不管它，隨它去」的意思，例如：With things as such, we』ll have to let it slide. 事到如今，我們也只好聽其自然了。

　　「Judge a book by its cover」的字面意思是「只看書皮就評價一本書」。人的外貌和穿著就好比書的封皮，封皮普通不意味著內容一般，長相和穿著好看同樣也不等於人很善良。
